LATEST SHOULDER DYSTOCIA EXPLANATION

Following the production of the new Manual, the various manoeuvres have been renamed correctly (for instance, what we used to call Woodscrew, is actually, reverse Woodscrew!)

However, please do not get 'hung-up' about the names.

The principle change is the addition of pressure on the posterior shoulder from the front of the baby in order to help rotation.

This is best seen in the diagram Latest Shoulder Dystocia Explanation

For the review document click here Shoulder Dystocia Review

This in no way invalidates the manoeuvres you have been using over the last few years

Baby Lifeline B.I.R.T.H Series of Educational Videos – In Response to CESDI

Details of the Baby Lifeline's acclaimed series of nine interactive educational videos, designed for use by midwives, junior doctors and all health professionals working on labour ward, are listed below for your information

The B.I.R.T.H series was produced by Baby Lifeline, a national charity that supports the care of unborn babies, newborn babies and their mothers, in response to important issues raised by CESDI reports.  The video series has been endorsed by The Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and The Royal College of Midwives. It has received impressive revues from both obstetricians and midwives (specimen revue enclosed).

Although the videos have been sold across the UK and as far afield as Australia, Baby Lifeline still hold stocks which we are anxious to distribute in order to benefit the maximum number of health professionals in the maternity sector. The charity has raised funds towards the making of the series and charges a nominal amount per video to cover its production costs.

The current price for each video is £45 plus a flat rate charge of £3 for postage and packing. We are now pleased to offer you substantial discounts on all orders received by 31st January 2002.

  • Order one video and save 10%
